On closing night of SFIFF51 Vanity Fair Reel Relief
will feature the highly anticipated documentary
Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney’s profile of outrageous journalist Hunter S. Thompson focuses on 1965-75 highlights, when Thompson’s hilarious, untethered reportage on the Hells Angels, Las Vegas, and political campaigns earned a new word in the dictionary: gonzo.
The second annual Reel Relief will benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), one of the nation’s most effective environmental action groups. The NRDC’s mission is to safeguard the Earth: its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends. For more information visit nrdc.org.
